Write for us

We welcome thoughtful pitches about the identities, relationships, transitions and lives beyond competition that shape how athletes experience sport. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without agreement.

What we welcome

Pitches may explore a clear question, a useful comparison, a cultural context or an aspect of life beyond the result. We value specific angles that let readers understand a subject without reducing an individual to a lesson or a stereotype.

What makes a good pitch

Explain the central idea, why it suits United Athlete Stories and what material or perspective would support it. Flag sensitive subjects and any limits on what can be shared. Do not include private information about someone else or make claims you cannot substantiate.

Sending a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a brief outline and any relevant context. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication, and we will consider it for fit, clarity and responsible handling.

Our point of view

A result is one part of a life

Sport makes some moments visible; it cannot show the whole person. We make room for the identities, connections and changes that a scoreline leaves out.
