About
United Athlete Stories is an editorial publication about the people behind sport, not a record of results. We cover identity, relationships, transitions and the parts of life that continue outside competition, for readers who want a fuller view of athletic lives.
What we cover
Our subjects include how people hold an athletic identity alongside other parts of themselves, how relationships shape sporting life, and how a change in role can alter what comes next. We also consider public image and the limits of what spectators can know from the outside.
Who it is for
The publication is for readers curious about athletes as people, whether they follow sport closely or are simply interested in the ways a demanding public role meets private life. We aim to make each piece readable without assuming specialist knowledge.
How we approach a subject
We distinguish what is known from what is inferred, avoid treating one person’s experience as universal, and handle sensitive personal topics with care. We do not invent private details or present speculation as fact.
A result is one part of a life
Sport makes some moments visible; it cannot show the whole person. We make room for the identities, connections and changes that a scoreline leaves out.
